Blue-green eyes gleam at Nephenee from beneath the hood Emery's wearing as a disguise as he waits patiently for her to give him a talking to. However, at the mention of bees his mouth visibly twitches. And then again as she talks about Emery being rich; and then finally Emery bursts into peals of merry laughter.
"Bees!" he eventually chokes out. "That's a delightful way of putting it!"
When he's finally mostly calm, Emery wipes a tear from his eye and attempts an actual explanation. "Let's just say I'm not interested in making any honey, I'm just picking flowers for the fun of it. I guess you've never tried it, huh?" He grins, wondering what a virginal woman is even doing in Elysium. "That or you had a partner who had no idea what they were doing. Picking flowers is enjoyable, it's as simple as that."
(The truth of the matter is that Emery has different business at the Verdigris House, but that's certainly not something he intends to reveal. Not unless he figures out who this woman is apart from a concerned citizen- and until then it's fine if she thinks he's a typical skirt chaser. It isn't as if he's above that sort of thing.)
