Isn't "truth" just a conclusion you draw based off of your own perceptions...? Especially, the "objective truth" is a conclusion agreed upon by many different people. Through their cooperation, that sole conclusion becomes more and more powerful, and difficult to deny... It binds them together, but also, it shackles them to itself.
What is the purpose of the truth, anyway? ...To justify our decisions?
In fiction, if they can't follow any of the justifications behind what happens in a story, a reader will often put it down and say... "This is pointless." "This is stupid." "This is illogical."
...In that case, that means they were searching for a "kind of truth" within the story, yes? Why would they do that, if they knew it was fake from the start?
