arrival: feeding (and caffeinating) the newbies
[ There’s plenty of food to go around, of course, and Ken’s helped with that in whatever capacity he’s asked — but he’s got a Specialty, too, and he’s here to ply his trade.

Which is why you or your table might be approached by a boy of about eleven with a pot of coffee in one hand and a couple of empty mugs in his other arm. ]

It’s a little weaker than I’d normally make it, but...well, there’s a lot of you! Sorry about that.

[ He’s not saying the other part out loud — the part where anyone who’s been on the prisoner’s diet for too long might not be ready for anything too strong, lest they skip right past “a warm sense of comfort” and straight to “bouncing off the walls.” He hates having his own moments of weakness pointed out, so he’s certainly not about to kick anyone else when they’re down.

Unless they’re a jerk, anyway. ]

danger at sea: pretty decent stats for the joke weapon?
[ There’s just about always a deck that needs swabbing, and Ken’s hard at work when the alarm bell starts ringing. He has about enough time to look up and frown before the first tentacle hits the deck with a wet, meaty slap.

He doesn’t think twice, deftly flipping the mop in his hands and jumping forward with a yell. ]

HiiiiiiiYAH!

[ His mop handle stab was more effective than he expected it to be. Maybe a little too effective, all things considered; the tentacle thrashes wildly, wrenching the mop from his hands and throwing him backwards to land on his butt. ]

Ow — I hope you get splinters!

wildcard: choose your own adventure
[ Presently, Ken’s usually found around Flotsam, but the Vault isn’t out of the question. He’s young enough not to have a specialty to speak of or much sway, but he’s just about always a willing set of hands with a good attitude and a willingness to learn more. Rope him into something? Bother him from whatever someone else roped him into?

Or maybe just be a bad influence. He may be keeping it on the downlow, but he’s always here to learn more about How To Do A Murder. ]
