Momo hesitates. She gets it, she wanted to make a good first impression too, but lying...she straightens her shoulders, in a way she hope exudes more confidence than she feels. "Yes. We need to own up to our mistakes. Otherwise we're just making ourselves liabilities." It sucks and they might, hell, they probably will get reprimands for it, but the lie is a flimsy one. They'd probably get found out anyway, and that would be worse.

"...The red feels right." She's going to try and trust her gut on this, and her gut is telling her it's the red and not the possibly-maroon mushrooms that are the correct one. After all, her notes didn't say anything about maroon. "I think...we collect the red ones, and if we're wrong, well, then we'll have both learned to be better prepared. Next time." Take the lumps and move on.
