EVENT #07: ASPHODEL CONSTRUCTION PROJECT PLANNING


As the Empire’s enhanced troop presence begins to abate, the Flotsam fleet has come back together, although they’ve started breaking in smaller portions fairly regularly to keep the empire from mustering an attack squadron to threaten the operation.

While the Empire’s eyes are on Flotsam’s return, the Corsairs are not remaining idle. Reports have been filtering in that the mining town built around the Vindess mines that the Imperials, suspecting collusion, have clamped down hard on the community. Soldiers now roam the streets, enforcing strict curfews and executing citizens under the slimmest of pretexts.

The Corsairs will not permit this to continue, especially against a community that lent them aid and whose citizens they have welcomed. Thus, the Asphodel project has been launched in full. With the ruins north of Elysium cleared by the Corsair’s actions, construction of the new settlement, Asphodel, is underway. The Corsairs will spend the whole month preparing the settlement, before launching their most daring rescue yet. Evacuate an entire town, and relocate them to new homes in the Eternal Ocean. When complete, Asphodel will be a settlement artfully concealed within long-abandoned ruins, with homes built into the ruined structures and the primary city underneath. It will make use of the continent’s fertile land with concealed farms above ground and cavernous farms below, supplied with natural sunlight.

For now, the preparation. There are airships to capture. A town to prepare. The whole of the Corsairs have been mobilized for this operation. If successful, the ripples it sends within the Empire could be enormous.

Mission logs will go up on the 10th.

MISSIONS

Prepare Asphodel: The new settlement of Asphodel must be prepared for the Imperial refugees.
Priority: Critical
Recommended Roles: Suppliers
Description: Corsairs will need to build homes, furniture, prepare farms, and do the other tasks of preparing a new settlement.

Prepare Citizens for Evacuation: The citizens of Vindess are under heavy constraints with the Imperial crackdown. The Corsairs mean to claim them all.
Priority: Critical
Recommended Roles: Negotiators and Infiltrators
Description: Corsairs will need to sneak into Vindess and prepare the citizens for evacuation, as well as suppress any Imperial loyalists or soldiers who look to be getting in the way.

Acquire Airships: The rescue and resettlement of the Vindess civilians will take a lot of airships. The Corsairs would do well to acquire more.
Priority: Optional
Recommended Roles: All
Description: Corsairs will need to increase the size of the fleet. This can be done in any number of ways, from stealing them from Imperials to building them to salvaging them from the sea floor.
