I really do enjoy the CR Link and Ilphyl have developed! I love that Ilphyll is just straight up willing to breed lizards for Link or turn him into a horse. Or throw bomb flowers at things with him XD

I described Ilphyl's reaction to their upbringing as making them slightly feral as a rejection of Forgotten Realms' (Lolthite) drow 'complex society where officially you have a place, but unofficially you are supposed to plotting and backstabbing to get ahead'.

But Ilphyl concedes Link has them beat in 'slightly feral'. But it is nice to have a friend who Ilphyl can just take entirely at face value, and who likes animals and plants as much as they do, even if Link is more in the practical 'what can I do with this'.
