TEST DRIVE #13
The day begins as any other, you’re going about your day, living your life, when, without warning, you feel the world around you shift on its axis. You feel a great tear, welling from the depths of your soul as you are ripped from all you have known. If you’re lucky, you arrive in the wilderness of an unfamiliar world, where the language is foreign and the people are hostile. To make your escape, you must learn some language, flee, and occasionally fight, all to find your way off the floating isles you find yourself on and to the great ocean below, where rebel forces will welcome you.
If you’re unlucky, you materialize within a room full of armed guards and are quickly subdued with charged nets, stripped of your belongings, fitted with strange devices that suppress your powers and pressed into servitude. Your days are unimaginable pain and toil.
Fortunately, even in this world, there is still hope. For the denizens of this world have not given up. And it is for that dream of salvation that the Crimson Corsairs raise their flags and sail - for liberation. Perhaps you are one who has lived their entire life under the oppressive yoke of the Empire. Perhaps you have seen first hand your family and friends cut down by nobles hunting men for sport, or perhaps you have run afoul with the church and barely escaped with your life. No matter your origin, the Corsairs sail for you, for your freedom, for your life. And today, a taste of freedom will be won for all.

ARRIVAL/LIBERATION
With the sweep of the Fallen Isles and the defection of some of the nobles who lived there, the Corsairs have liberated a number of servants in the bargain. Those servants are rapidly processed on the Isles themselves - there’s little time waste when Imperial reprisal is expected so soon. If you’re willing to work, you will be immediately put to it.

SPLIT THE FLEET
Before the assault, the Corsairs split the Flotsam fleet, making sure all the non-combatants are safely hidden. There is much to do before the break - as many of the people going on the split fleet are the very young or the very old, they must be stocked with provisions and prepared to survive while hidden within the sea. Be in the constant moving of goods or the frantic mending of clothing and sails before the split, there is much to be done and precious little time with which to do it.

SOME ASSEMBLY REQUIRED
With the completion of the Skysplitters, the weapons must also be prepared and transported to the isles. That means complex disassembly and intensive training to reassemble the armaments and get them battle ready within hours. The weapons themselves are immense, enormous howitzer cannons pointed skyward with heavy steel shells and casing to accompany them, so those who are on armament duty will find themselves spending days assembling and disassembling these cannons for training in the time leading up to the assault. The Corsairs cannot proceed until the team can practically do this operation in their sleep, and that means many a sleep-LESS night for those on duty.

A MOMENT OF ASPHODEL PEACE
With the completion of the fourth Crimson Portal, the people of Asphodel are connected fully to the Corsairs. With many of the miners helping in the re-establishment of the new mine, the townsfolk remain eager to help their saviors and prove their worth to an organization who saved them for reasons they don’t quite understand. Unused to freedom, the people of Asphodel respond as best they can, with deep gratitude. As the operation draws close, the doors of Asphodel open to weary Corsairs, giving them a place to go, rest, and unwind. With the carefully designed acoustics of the mostly-underground settlement to keep sound from carrying to Elysium proper, the people of Asphodel share music and culture with the Corsairs, and receive it in turn.
